If you plan on travelling by train, you can only get as far as Fuengirolo, some 30 kilometres away. From there you will have to complete your journey by bus or taxi. Spain went through some troubled times in the middle of the 20th century and Marbella went through a period of decline. Today though, you would never know as it is a thriving and popular destination.
